The London to Bath and Back record.

In 1981 John Woodburn set the Road Records Association Record for London to Bath and back. He covered the 211 miles in just 9 hours, 3 minutes and 7 seconds. A time so formidable that it has stood for over 28 years unchallenged. This my training blog as I attempt the break the record.

The new (on loan) wheels are on the bike. I gave the bike a cable change too. It is all raring to go for the dry run on Satuday. If I fall short then I can't blame equipment. It is the wheelset recommended by Ian Cammish, the current RRA 100 mile record holder. Now okay he works for Planet X, but did suggest other non Planet X options, only if I can borrow a set then I'd be a mug to spend £1000s. To be honest given the small difference wheels make, the difference between one 80mm front and another has to be negligable. And as for dimples? Well I'm unconvinced. Surely sports cars, Formula 1 cars and aircraft would have dimples if they reduced drag.
