It's hard to know what to write. It has been a while, but in truth my life has been little more than work and training with a small amount of family time thrown in whenever possible. My little boy has taken to holding my hand now because I am always leaving. It's been a tough seven months. The extreme cold and rides in the snow are no a distant memory, the problem now is that the mountain I have to climb is in the near future.

Below is an early schedule, I'm starting near Reading at 5am, straight into London, then Bath and back to the finish. I've put it together as I will be doing a complete dry run at the weekend, a full dress rehearsal with Patrick driving in support. I'm not sure Patrick knew what he was letting himself for! But hand on heart, without his encouragement and enthusiasm for this venture I really don't think I would have got this far.

So I will be staying at Pat's house on Friday, getting up at an ungodly hour, eating breakfast (as yet undecided, but I have a fondness for bitesize shredded wheat) and letting it digest as we head out to Reading.
A quick warm up on the turbo and then it's go. I'll have a small bottle of energy drink on the bike and fig rolls in my pocket. The first feed station will be back near the start. I know it is just a rehearsal, but I'm nervous. It is becoming apparent just how many people I have asked to put themselves out.
