I squeezed in an Hour of Power turbo session on Wednesday. Basically riding at 85% with 15 seconds at max every 2 minutes. It is designed by Peter Black I think. All went well. On Thurday however it was clear my legs were groggy. The commute in to work was not pleasant, even though I tried to turn it into a recovery ride. Difficult on a 53/12 fixed gear bike. To top it all my Thursday session was a very hard speed intervals. I just made it out alive, helped by having to abandon the very last sprint when my chain came off. I was truely in a state. I pulled myself together enough to look fairly relaxed when I emerged from the conservatory (gym/bike workshop) to say night night to my wife.
Thank goodness Friday was just a ride, I tried to find a new route to add a little variety to my life, but more or less went round in circles on unsuitable roads. Unless it is to be a 4 to 5 hour ride, heading towards Dorking is going to be any use.
It’s my birthday on Monday and I was thinking of buying the new real wheel I have been saving for. Instead I have ordered a dishwasher. Oh joy. I guess I’ll have fun plumbing it in.
