The London to Bath and Back record.

In 1981 John Woodburn set the Road Records Association Record for London to Bath and back. He covered the 211 miles in just 9 hours, 3 minutes and 7 seconds. A time so formidable that it has stood for over 28 years unchallenged. This my training blog as I attempt the break the record.

Gotta do it.

I probably shouldn't have gone out.

It was Patrick's birthday in the afternoon and then in the evening we went to see my sister in law. All fine but then the little boy threw up in style and quantity.
We then didn't get home until 9pm and it was wet, windy and very cold.
Of course nothing was going to stop me going out, even the bleeding obvious.
The rain got worse and coming through Sevenoaks I was literally blinded by it and had to pull over. At best it stung my face.
Once my gloves were wet, the wind stung my fingers. And to think I was looking at new gloves in a shop the day before.

I got home, 50 miles and 2.30 hours later. My hands took forever to warm up, it was agony.

I now have a blocked nose, which I hope will clear up over night so I can repeat my madness tomorrow. looks like snow!
